Animal Encounters 2023

Make some memories with our unforgettable experiences for all the family.

Tickle a Tapir, Hang with a Sloth, give a Rhino a neck rub or chill with the Red Panda or hand feed a Tiger.  You’ll be coming snout (or knee in the Giraffe’s case) to face with some of the most beautiful, rare and Endangered Animals in these interactive Animal Encounters!


Each Experience Runs for 20-30 minutes.

Included in Each Encounter:

• Entry to the park for the entire day
• Accompany the keeper into the enclosure, animal house and/behind the scenes areas

• Big Cat Hand Feeding, Giant Otter and Andean Bear  participants MUST be over the age of 7 years.
• Sloth,  and Red Panda Experience participants be over the age of 5 years.
• Tapir and Zebra Encounters are suitable for those aged 4 years and over.
• For the Vulture  experince no age limit applies however, pushchairs are not permitted in the aviary and small children must be carried throughout.
• Capybara, Giraffe, Lemur & Tamarin, Penguin, Rhino, Roo & Wallaby, Meerkat and Bird Experiences have no minimum age requirement BUT children will need to be accompanied by a participating, paying adult ensuring  they fully supervised and under control throughout. 
• Our keepers will stop an experience at any time they feel the participants are not following instruction which could be unsafe for the participants, keeper and animals - no refund or opportunity to rebook will be offered.

Terms:

• Encounters must be pre-booked by contacting bookings@cumbriazoo.co.uk.
• Purchases are non-refundable
• Under 16s must be accompanied by a participating adult who also holds an encounter voucher
• Please provide the name, age and any special needs or medical conditions for each person you are purchasing the encounter for at checkout
• These vouchers are undated, you MUST contact us in advance to secure your place. No refunds will be issued if you travel to the zoo without having received written confirmation of your booking from the above email address.
• Once booked via the above email address, amendments will be subject to a £15 administration fee per place for bookings due to take place more than one month in advance, a £35 administration fee per place will be payable for changes to bookings due to take place more than 7 days in advance. For changes to bookings due to take place within 7 days, a £50 administration fee per place will be payable.
