We'll be heading off to the Animal Kitchen to prepare their vet-approved nutritious snacks, then were off to the Lion House to see where they live.  You'll get to understand how our procedures and routines allow us to operate in a safe way whilst maintaining the highest standards of care and welfare for these beautiful endangered Big Cats.  Then we're off to the feeding area for a hand feeding session! 

There is a maximum of 4 visitors allowed into the house and feeding areas at any one time for health and safety reasons.  Please contact us if you would like to visit in a group larger than 4 to discuss the options available to you.

The African Lion Encounter is suitable for Lion-lovers aged 7 and above, all under 16s must be accompanied by an adult who has also purchased an equivalent encounter voucher.

You will need to arrive no later than 30 minutes prior to the scheduled start time of your encounter.

Once you have booked your date either at the point of checkout or via bookings@cumbriazoo.co.uk if choosing an undated encounter, amendmentsto date will be subject to a £15 administration fee per place for bookings due to take place more than one month in advance, a £35 administration fee per place will be payable for changes to bookings due to take place more than 7 days in advance. For changes to bookings due to take place within 7 days, a £50 administration fee per place will be payable.
